What is a DAO?

Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO) are a way to structure an entity and a favorite in Web 3 because it prioritizes community ownership over executive ownership. The premise of Web 3 is to allow more people to own a piece of the internet. Like co-ops before them, DAOs take are driven by transparency, democracy, and ownership among the members.
